Explanation: This piece represents that even though African Americans are given the shorter end of the stick; they remain well calculated when it comes to achieving their version of the “American Dream”. Rather it is in sports, culinary arts, or visual arts, men and women of color still managed to solve any problem that was given to them through perseverance and dedication in order to achieve their goals.
 
Jah Jah’s Thoughts: This piece was inspired by an art professor from my alma mater, Tuskegee University (Class of 2020). We were in responsible for creating an art piece by using ancient numbers from different cultures such as Roman, Egyptian, English, or Babylonian just to name a few. When deciding on what to do with this project, I had formulated all of those numbers that I have researched into a human-like figure of a black male that represents being able to solve any problems that comes his way through STRENGHT and PERSEVERENCE.

Ancient numbers: these numbers are from different ancient civilizations that have written their version of the “number system” from Roman, Egyptian, and Babylonian just to name a few.
